Waking up in the morning is definitely the most exciting aspect in life (or at least it should be): to be grateful for being alive, for feeling healthy and not knowing what the day will bring, adds a kind of sparkle to the journey – even though, or perhaps because, it’s accompanied by a trace of uncertainty.
We should be starting our workday with a positive attitude, focused on doing what we love.
We should be starting our workday with a positive attitude, focused on doing what we love. One of my favorite quotes comes from “Jobs” himself: “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.”
Isn’t it true?
I have certainly had the good fortune of always being able to do what I love, from the professional side (design) to my passions (music and snowboarding)… everything I’ve done has been in the realm of the creative and with a certain degree of freedom because creativity it is freedom. To let your mind roam free, to find a solution for design problems to solve, to fill your mind with sound waves and words, to find your inner peace in the mountains, these are the things I love!
My work is helping other people, so they can achieve their own, personal version of true wealth.
That is what I consider my wealth, my true wealth: To be able to do the things I love and I am passionate about.
What actually helps me to achieve that?
Well, firstly, it is time… Time is crucial – if you don’t have it, you can’t do much of anything.
As I see it, time is the most important factor in our life. Our life is based on an unknown timeline… time is of the utmost importance and should be our golden nugget every day.
Then there is money. We need to make money through our business or daily job. (This also requires time.)
So the question becomes: How can I make time, while also making enough money?
Does money buy time?
Does time help to make money?
What if I spend too much time making money and not having enough time for my passions, my true wealth?
As I see it, a good balance in terms of hours spent on your work and your other pursuits is a good start.
But ultimately, it is also about what you do with your money and how you are able to use that money to generate more money – without allocating more time to it. Money needs to work for you in its own time – and not on yours.
We call this investing. And it looks like it could be the solution for all my needs. How and when investing happens, of course, is another story. I first need knowledge and to be able to trust whoever might manage this on my behalf.
I am not even the type of person who takes too many risks with money, so that will have to be taken into consideration as well.
I will need to be guided in reaching my goals and in understanding the complex (or so it can seem) world of investment.
Working at Alpian has given me the right tools to understand investing better – and this in turn has enabled me to help our future customers in their wealth journey.
My work is helping other people through the kinds of considerations I have just gone through above, so they can achieve their own, personal version of true wealth. Delivering the best user experience and building trust in Alpian’s ability to be by their side is what brings it full circle for me: to make my purpose helping other people fulfill theirs.
Here’s to 2022 and the opportunities it will bring to us all!
